If you have been keeping up with me, and you really should, I'm a lot of fun, then you would know that I am an avid juicer. I like to blend fruits and veggies with supplements and try to force every last stinking stubborn ounce of fat off this frame. I've not been that successful over the past several months and I think maybe it has to do with the fact that I put the juicer away and have been trying to make things happen with just a good diet and exercise program. Those days are gone!
The juicer was pulled out from under the cabinet today. It was cleaned meticulously, and then I cleaned it again to be sure there were no leftover fruit or veggie particles that could cause bacteria to appear in my gut. That would not be fun. After a good steaming and soaping, the juicer was then run through the motions with the first juice of the year. I choose a very good, sweet yet crisp juice of cucumber, apple, lemon, and supplements. When I say supplements I add things like: gingerroot, marshmallow root, D3, Collagen, black walnut with wormwood and clover, and I even threw in some ginseng just because I can. Ginseng is good for the mind, you know, or maybe didn't know. Yes, ginseng can open up your brain and the colors you thought you saw are now brighter than they were; not joking.
I went to Winco last week and picked up about 6 big fat cucumbers because I know I'll drink cucumber juice both day and night. I will have to go back and pick up another package of carrots. I can't believe I forgot my dang carrots. I love the stuffings out of carrots. I may have to even try and juice parsnips too, but add another piece of apple to offset the taste a bit. I bet I could become pretty creative with this if I had to. I'm thinking parsley, celery, cilantro, turnip greens, and beets...wow, I'm going back to the store. I need a few things. I just have to remember not to get so much that it won't fit in my fridge and I don't want it to go bad. The great thing about spinach and kale is that even if it's a bit brown it's still really good for me. I can add another apple or pear...all is well.
I won't be replacing high tea with my juice, no thank you. Nothing replaces high tea. I will, however, allow myself to have juice for lunch rather than eating lunch, that way I will be more inclined to have a good dinner. I am giving up bread again, which only makes me sad, but it is necessary. I think I read that my blood type, which is O+ can benefit from giving up more carbs than the average person as they tend to stick with me and I really need to unstick what is with me. That's the whole point of this juicing thing, that and I really like the stuff. I think while I'm at the store I'll pick up more strawberries, blueberries, peaches, and pears. You can do the frozens, and they fit nicely in the fridge, but I find that I can't juice frozens...you have to blend those in the Nutribullet for a smoothy rather than juice, but the best juice out there (besides cucumber) is a cantaloupe! OMG...it's wonderful.
So there we are. Back to the juicing, back to the trying, back to the hoping, praying, and working it until it happens. I'm finding that wall pilates is fun too. You don't need a full gym to work out people. You can benefit from it, sure, not saying you can't, but you can do a lot of things at home or in a small space that has a wall. I have the big bouncy ball too, but I think the wall pilates and pushups are helping with both balance and toning. Gotta love that. I watched a video podcast vlog thing where a woman was unashamed and videoed herself from start to finish as she went on her journey to lose 110 pounds. She did it! It took just over a year and she showed her progress. She's still toning, she's not where she wants to be just yet, but the courage and the passion are so remarkable. I love people with positive outlooks who are both realistic and able to understand that sometimes genetics can't be overlooked. That's what I'm finding in my case. Sad face.
We are only on this Earth for a while, after this we have eternity. I personally hope that we are all flat-chested, and have no shape at all. That would suit me just fine. I'm OK with looking like a ruler as I run through the moors and glens of Glory!! Sigh...we can hope. For now, I'm taking this body to the produce section and getting done what I can get done.
